Many people across the globe are diagnosed with different types of cancer every year. While some get treatment at the right time, there are others who lose their battle against cancer. But prevention is better than cure and thus, with the below-mentioned tips the deadly disease could be kept far away.
1. Cut out Cola and Sugary Drinks: Not only soft drinks contribute to obesity and diabetes but it also increases the risk of endometrial cancer.
2. Consume “Resistant Starches”: Bananas, Oats, White Beans, etc. are some of the food items that are packed with resistant starch. Its consumption keeps colon cancer at bay.
3. Physical Exercise: Along with a healthy diet, incorporate physical exercise into your routine. Also, at workplace, try to sit less and stand more.
4. Catch Sun rays for 15 minutes: 90% (approx.) Vitamin D in your body comes directly from sunlight. Vitamin D promotes proper cell maturation and reproduction. But make sure you don’t prolong the duration as it may cause tanning, which is one of the major cause of Skin Cancer.
5. Take Green Tea: Packed with anti-oxidants, green tea keeps cancers of breast, ovarian, colon, prostate and lung away.
6. Include Kiwi fruit in your diet: Kiwi fruit is packed with anti-oxidants such as Vitamin C, E, Copper and Lutein that are required for the proper functioning of the body and also for fighting cancer.
7. Eat more red grapes: A great source of resveratrol, red grapes may reduce cancer growth in the liver, stomach, breasts and lymph nodes.
8. Care for your Sexual Health: The more sexual partners you have the closer you are to catch human papillomavirus, or HPV, which can cause throat cancer, anal cancer, cervical cancer, and penile and vaginal cancer.
9. Feast less on fries and chips: When foods are fried at a high temperature a potential cancer-causing agent called acrylamide forms. The same is responsible for causing multiple types of cancer.
10. Have a glass of milk daily: Studies have shown that a daily diet of calcium offers protection to the body against colon cancer.
