Ovarian Cancer is the 9th most common cancer in the women. It is the most common cause of gynecologic cancer death. Thus, it is most common in older women, specially the ones who have never been pregnant, or woman who go through menopause late. There are several ways of cancer treatment for this illness such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery.
There are 3 main types of ovarian cancer -
1. Germ cells
2. Epithelial
3. Sex cord stromal tumors
However, the most common is the epithelial ovarian cancer. Here are a few things collected by Dr Krishna’s Cancer Healer Centre that every woman should know about -
1. There is no solid and reliable screening tests for ovarian cancer for women in the general population.
2. Most women for ovarian cancer treatment are diagnosed at an advanced stage.
3. Best cancer treatment requires both surgery and chemotherapy.
4. Surgery may be extensive.
5. Chemotherapy for ovarian cancer is not that bad.
6. Ask about full information about the medicine you are taking.
Ovarian Cancer tends to be aggressive and generally has very few symptoms until the time it reaches an advanced stage. However, many natural remedies have proven to be exceptionally useful in both curing and preventing the silent killer. Foods such as ginger, ginkgo biloba, flax seeds and green tea are all extremely effective for cancer treatment by destroying ovarian cancer cells and tumors. This hinder proliferation and increases survival rates dramatically.
Ovarian cancer treatment is generally surgery followed by chemotherapy. However, for some women with Stage 1 ovarian cancer, chemotherapy is not necessary but usually all need it. If the cancer is advanced, the aim is to abolish all the cancer that is visible. If that is not possible, you can remove the tumor greater than 1cm. This involves removing parts of the bowel, the spleen and other organs in addition to removing the uterus, cervix, tubes and ovaries. Any women with ovarian cancer should consider the best cancer treatment from the best cancer hospital. Women in their advanced stages of ovarian cancer may be a candidate for chemotherapy given directly in the abdomen.
