The liver filters blood and converts nutrients into chemicals. It performs several functions such as removal of toxins and other wastes from the bloodstream and readies them for excretion. Since all the blood passes through the liver, it becomes infected with the cancer cells that are present in the bloodstream. The liver can be affected by cancer in two ways- primary liver cancer which forms in the liver itself and metastatic or secondary liver cancer which begins in another part of the body and later spreads to the liver. Most cases of liver cancer are secondary in nature.

Since different kinds of cells make up the liver, it can be affected with several kinds of tumors of which some are benign, i.e. noncancerous while others are cancerous and spread to the other parts of the body.

Types of liver cancer-

  • Hepatocellular carcinoma
  • Chalongiocarcinoma

Causes of liver cancer-

Hepatocellular carcinoma occurs in livers that are damaged due to alcohol abuse, birth defects, chronic infections like hepatitis B or C, cirrhosis, hemochromatosis, fatty liver disease and obesity among other reasons. A majority of people who are detected with liver cancer have cirrhosis, which results in the scarring of the liver due to excess alcohol consumption. Hemochromatosis and Hepatitis B and C can result in lasting damage or failure of the liver.

Symptoms of liver cancer-

The various symptoms of liver cancer include-

  • Weight loss
  • Swelling, pain or tenderness in the upper part of your abdomen
  • Loss of appetite
  • Swelling in legs
  • Itching
  • Jaundice
  • Chills, fatigue, night sweats, fever
  • Nausea, vomiting, weakness
  • Development of skin lesions
  • Loss of sex drive

Liver cancer can successfully be treated through Immunotherapy. Also known as Biotherapy, it strengthens the body’s immune system to fight cancer and prevents cancer cells from further harming the body. The Wikipedia defines Immunotherapy as the “treatment of disease by inducing, enhancing or suppressing an immune response.” Activation immunotherapies elicit an immune response and suppression immunotherapies suppress the same. The Cancer Healer Medicine is based on Immunotherapy. It is a revolutionary medicine that has shown significant results even in terminally ill patients. It provides relief from hair loss, pain, nausea, infections, vomiting, weight loss, loss of appetite, etc., maintains bone strength and significantly improves the quality of life of the patient.
