Our diet includes nutrients that help keep cancer at bay. But if you are consuming unhealthy diet i.e. diet that has an absence of fruits & vegetables and presence of excessive alcohol, soda, red meat and other unhealthy edibles, then you are stepping towards the risk of cancer and/or other major health complications that lead to cancer. For Instance,
Excessive consumption of Alcohol
While the limited quantity of alcohol leads to heart complications, taking hard drinks in excess is related to high blood pressure and cancer of mouth, liver, colon, rectum, esophagus, etc.
Obesity
It is advised for the people who are obese that they should start the intake of a healthy diet as soon as possible. Also, incorporating physical exercise into their daily routine could keep them away from the risk of colon, pancreatic, thyroid, gall bladder, and kidney cancer.
Nexus between food adulteration and cancer
The harmful and inferior elements that are sometimes mixed in the food to either preserve them or fraud customers increase the risk of cancer. For example,
- Artificial flavor in fruit juices,
- Presence of mercury in seafood,
- The addition of deep red color to saffron, red chilly powder, etc.
So, what should be done?
- Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet, for instance, peanuts, berries, sweet potato, salmon, cruciferous broccoli, turmeric, etc. to fight against cancer.
- Quit smoking and drinking.
- Consume less of red meat.
- Incorporate physical exercise in your daily routine
